About the Campaign
Camelot Community Care is invested in our community and its well-being. We do this every day as we work towards our mission of enabling children & families to realize their fullest potential. As we continue to meet the challenges in our communities by providing high quality services, recruiting new & supporting current foster parents and being responsive in these ever-changing times due to the pandemic; keeping the children, their families and our staff safe has been our upmost priority. Wearing masks has become the new "norm" and it is with this in mind that the “Masks With A Meaning” Campaign was born.
This very special campaign was imagined through the collaboration of staff and the inspiration of a gifted local artist Gail Butters Cohen. Gail, is the mother of a therapist working out of Camelot’s Palm Beach office.
It is up to each of us to be part of the change process. Everybody can “change a lifetime”. Whether by purchasing a mask to support children in foster care, volunteering, becoming a foster parent, or learning more about the needs of our organization, you are helping to spread the word. These signed works of art are a unique way to remain safe, start conversations and educate our community about the needs of children in foster care.

About The Artist – Gail Butters Cohen
Gail shares, “I believe strongly in the power of art-making and all arts experiences to relieve the emotional and physical pain associated with mental and/or physical illnesses. The arts, both visual and expressive have proven, throughout history to promote wellness and self-fulfillment.”
She goes on to share, “regardless of ones role in art making, as either spectator or creator, the arts are a magical inspiration and the most natural of healing modalities. Expressing myself intuitively and without restraint or self judgement is the most natural and self-fulfilling experience I have known.”

As a therapist with Camelot Community Care Inc., my mother's values and teachings have made me into the woman I am today and to help the children I work with daily. Her art has brought healing to many people, but also to herself. Thank you, mom, for teaching me to be kind, empathetic, and to look at life through an artistic lens.
